Hey there deviants!
My name is Hope Chapman, and I'm producing a visual novel-style video game called Lovely Little Thieves. It's an 80s-inspired adventure starring six teenagers who must escape from a haunted house, as the player's choices slowly whittle down who survives the story and who falls prey to the "master of the mansion." The "visual novel" style means that the game functions like a digital choose-your-own-adventure book, where the only game mechanic is (frequent) player choice, and the story is illustrated through character sprites and high-impact color illustrations. We have several artists attached to the project already, but because of the sheer volume of art that needs to be produced for the final version, we're seeking to add new artists to our team!
The project's info (and playable demo of the game!) can be found on our Kickstarter page here
! It looks like we're going to be funded pretty quickly, hence the search for enthusiastic artists now. Artists will be compensated $100-$200 per 16:9-shaped color image (depending on its complexity,) and having an animation background is a plus for experience in rendering character designs "on-model" regardless of your own personal art style, which we encourage in bringing full force to the art you produce. We hope the end result will be a game with life and variety in its illustration. Digital media, traditional media, a more structured style or loose and brushy, all styles are welcome for the variety of illustrations the project will have. This variation in style can already be seen in the game's demo, which features work from four different talented artists.
